Job Summary
Registered Nurse on Cardiac/Heart Failure units responsible for ongoing patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care; supervise non-RN staff; take charge duties; may work on other units as distributed; provides education and documentation; preceptor to new staff; care for neuro patients with advanced heart failure management, including ventilator care and specialized procedures; handles endotracheal/tracheostomy care and coordination with physicians; participates in a performance-review-driven environment and upholds core values of integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion; unit includes Neuro/CTICU and LVAD/ECMO considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification (or must obtain within one month of hire)
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
