Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Advanced / Specialized Heart Failure with assignments across Neuro and Cardiac ICU/HVC units. Responsibilities include assessing and planning patient care, implementing and evaluating plans of care, supervising non-RN staff, acting as charge nurse or preceptor, and ensuring education and readiness for discharge. Requires competency in neuro assessment, airway management, care for patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, and experience with cardiac devices (IABP, Impella/VADs) and ECMO considerations. Emphasis on patient-centered care, collaboration with healthcare team, and adherence to unit policies. BSN preferred; current BCLS certification required or obtained within one month of hire; RN licensure in the appropriate state.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
