Job Summary
Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs and develop nursing care plans. Maintain medical records, educate families on conditions, and ensure physicians' orders are legible and transcribed. Document ongoing status assessments, notify physicians of significant changes, and complete admission and discharge processing. Accurately administer medications, maintain controlled substance counts, and demonstrate universal precautions. Coordinate unit activities and communicate professionally with patients, visitors, and co-workers. Requires current RN license, one year of nursing experience, and CPR/de-escalation certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
- One year of nursing experience
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required
Desired Qualifications
- previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience a plus
