Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, social, and psychological status while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Develop individualized care plans through critical thinking and actively involve patients and families in goal setting and education. Direct care delivery by delegating tasks, managing time and resources, and coordinating with physicians and support staff. Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revise care plans based on clinical outcomes, and ensure accurate, timely documentation of all activities. Maintain professional standards by adhering to legal and ethical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and licensure scope.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Med Surg/Stepdown with preferably one year experience
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
- Med Surg/Stepdown with preferably one year experience
