Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary team through delegation and collaboration while prioritizing patient needs, managing resources, and coordinating discharge planning. Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revise care plans, and ensure accurate documentation of all clinical outcomes. Maintain legal and ethical standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and provide timely communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers. Perform physical tasks including patient transfers, equipment manipulation, and navigating busy hospital environments. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and 36 weekly hours on 3/12-hour shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Med Surg/Stepdown with preferably one year experience
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
