Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care utilizing the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct the care team through delegation and coordination while managing time, supplies, and resources to ensure safe delivery. Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revise care plans as needed, and provide accurate, timely documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Perform physical assessments of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive and developmental skills. This role involves 36 weekly hours across 3/12-hour shifts at Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Candidates must hold a current RN license with a BSN required as of April 27, 2025, and possess Basic Life Support certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
  • Med Surg/Stepdown with preferably one year experience
  • Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
