Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, technology, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary team through delegation and collaboration while managing time, supplies, and resources to coordinate patient delivery. Evaluate patient responses to interventions and revise care plans based on clinical outcomes and family satisfaction. Provide accurate and timely documentation while maintaining legal and ethical standards within your scope of licensure. Perform physical assessments of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive and developmental skills. Collaborate with physicians, family, and other support staff to develop individualized plans of care and prepare patients for follow-up needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Med Surg/Stepdown with preferably one year experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire
