Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the physical, social, and psychological status of patients using the nursing process, technology, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation and collaboration, prioritizing patient care delivery while managing time, supplies, and resources. Collaboratively develop individualized plans of care with patients, families, and physicians, including education and referrals. Evaluate patient response to interventions and revise care plans as needed, ensuring accurate and timely documentation that complies with legal and ethical standards. Work 3/12-hour shifts at Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, with a weekly schedule of 36 hours. Current licensure and BLS certification required; BSN degree required for hires after April 27, 2025.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must comply with all applicable Intermountain policies and expectations
- Must acknowledge that outside employment or activities may not interfere with job responsibilities or create a conflict of interest with Intermountain
Desired Qualifications
- Med Surg/Stepdown with preferably one year experience
