Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practice. Direct interdisciplinary teams through delegation and collaboration while managing time, supplies, and resources to coordinate patient delivery. Evaluate patient responses to interventions and revise care plans based on clinical outcomes and satisfaction data. Maintain accurate, timely documentation and integrate legal and ethical standards into daily practice. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift, transfer patients, and operate medical equipment in a busy hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Med Surg/Stepdown with preferably one year experience
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license

- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Med Surg/Stepdown with preferably one year experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at their promotion or hire
- BSN within four (4) years of their hire date
