Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and therapeutic interventions. Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members including physicians, families, and support staff while directing delegation and managing time, supplies, and resources. Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revise care plans as needed, and provide accurate, timely documentation. Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards while maintaining professionalism and accountability. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, ambulate patients, and operate medical equipment in a busy hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Med Surg/Stepdown with preferably one year experience
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
