Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of older adults in the acute care setting using evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct the care team through delegation and coordination while managing time, supplies, and resources to maintain patient function and safety. Perform appropriate physical, social, and psychological assessments, including cognitive and developmental skills, and actively seek involvement from patients, families, and physicians to develop individualized care plans. Evaluate patient response to interventions and revise plans as needed based on clinical outcomes and satisfaction. Provide accurate and timely documentation while adhering to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards. Work the night shift in a specialized unit dedicated to preserving independence for patients age 65 and older.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Night Shift
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
- If applying for a remote or hybrid role, this includes remote work expectations related to confidentiality, information security, work schedules, conflicts of interest, and use of company equipment
- Actual or reasonably perceived conflicts may be grounds for disqualification from consideration or, if hired, corrective action up to and including termination of employment
- Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience
