Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, including physical, social, and psychological status. Direct interdisciplinary teams through delegation and collaboration while prioritizing care delivery, managing time and resources. Evaluate patient response to interventions and revise care plans based on clinical outcomes and satisfaction. Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards. Work 12-hour night shifts at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver. BLS certification required; BSN preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • 12 months of experience
  • Assess physical, social, and psychological status
  • Use critical thinking skills
  • Collaboratively develop individualized plan of care
  • Direct the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration
  • Demonstrate ability to set priorities and coordinate patient care delivery
  • Evaluate patient response to interventions
  • Revises plan of care as indicated
  • Integrate legal and ethical standards into practice
  • Comply with regulatory standards
  • Practice within scope of licensure
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation
  • Understand legal implications of care delivery
  • See and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Use hands and fingers frequently for computer use and typing
  • Prepare medication
  • Lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
  • Push/pull gurneys and portable equipment
  • Navigate crowded and busy rooms
  • Stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Drive a vehicle
  • See and read signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) obtained from an accredited institution
  • Experience with Bipap patients
  • Experience with heated Hi Flow patients
  • Experience with DKA patients
