Job Summary
Join the only dedicated stroke unit in northern Michigan (29 private rooms) on a full-time night shift as an RN in a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Provide care for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizure disorders, headaches and mood disorders, and post-operative neurosurgical needs (thrombectomies, TNK, craniotomies, VP shunts). Collaborate with pharmacists, PT/OT/speech therapy, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-acuity neuro care. Units feature telemetry and cardiac monitoring, advanced technology (including a biplane CT scanner), and a focus on patient and family experiences within a supportive hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in Michigan
- BLS Certification
- ACLS preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (to be obtained during unit orientation)
- Experience with neuro/high-acuity care or interest in neurology
Additional Requirements
- Vaccination against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella or immunity confirmed
- Annual flu vaccination or approved exemption
