Job Summary
Deliver direct and indirect nursing care for assigned patients on the 7A Cardiac Telemetry/Medicine Unit while supervising assigned personnel. Apply knowledge of department and hospital policies to interpretive, interactive, and consultative associations with patients and staff. Utilize spoken, written, and manual dexterity skills to communicate patient information and exchange ideas effectively. Maintain current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications per American Heart Association Guidelines and complete specialty requirements within one year if new to the practice area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Nursing
- One year of Nursing/Patient Care in an acute care setting
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
- Compact State Licensure in Nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- NRP certification
- De-escalation training
- Knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of nursing care
- Interpretive skills
- Frequent interactive and consultative associations
- Management and supervisory skills
- Ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion
- Spoken word communication
- Written skills
- Telephone skills
