Job Summary
Professional nurse providing school health services; will work 32.5 hours per week across assigned school sites, serving as a team leader and coordinating planning, implementation, and supervision of school health activities. Responsibilities include nursing assessments/health appraisals, identifying communicable diseases, coordinating referrals and follow-ups (including home visits when appropriate), performing complex medical procedures for students with special needs (e.g., catheterization, tube feedings), managing health screenings (vision, hearing, dental, nutrition, hypertension), training volunteers and Health Support Aides, providing health education and counseling to students, staff, parents, and community, maintaining health records and immunization status, planning health fairs, and participating in IEP meetings and safety committees. Requires licensure as an RN, valid driver’s license, CPR certification. 32.5 hours per week; location at FDOH Washington County Health Department / Washington County School Clinics (Chipley/Vernon) and Holmes County CHD/School Clinics as needed.
