Registered Nurse - 6 West (NIGHTS)

Job Summary
Provide excellent, clinically competent patient care by assessing, planning, and evaluating outcomes using evidence-based interventions. Collect data, make nursing diagnoses, and initiate care plans while safely administering medications and verifying orders. Document patient care per policy, solicit feedback, and respond to emergency situations independently or with physician assistance. Supervise LPNs and UAPs when assigned, reprioritize work based on unit needs, and contribute to quality improvement and infection control activities. Participate in required orientations, meetings, and in-services while maintaining flexible scheduling for patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia or a compact state
- 12-hour shifts for inpatient staff
- Demonstrates a theoretical knowledge base
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills
- Demonstrates consistent ability/competence in patient care areas
- Demonstrates the ability to respond to emergency situations
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate the vision, mission, and goals of Chesapeake Regional Medical Center
- Demonstrates a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred Education: BSN
- Preferred Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care setting
