Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for ambulatory and inpatient patients using the nursing process. Initiate assessments based on presenting problems, collect key information from patients and medical reports, and determine nursing diagnoses and priorities for care. Perform therapeutic interventions, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and initiate corrective actions for adverse symptomatology. Document assessment findings, clinical judgments, and patient responses to interventions while maintaining accurate medical records. Provide patient and family education, coordinate referrals, and respond to medical emergencies including CPR/BLS. Supervise LPNs, support personnel, and new staff members during orientation and patient care. Collaborate with forensic teams to ensure safety for patients in custody and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved nursing school/program
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure to work in state of TN
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- Experience in caring for patients in an inpatient setting
- Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the school age, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population
