Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for ambulatory and inpatient patients, initiating assessments based on presenting problems and medical diagnoses. Collect key information from patients, families, and medical reports; determine nursing diagnoses and priorities for care including discharge planning and patient teaching. Perform therapeutic nursing interventions, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and initiate corrective actions for adverse symptoms. Document assessment findings, clinical judgments, and patient responses to interventions while maintaining accurate medical records. Respond to medical emergencies, provide CPR/BLS as required, and supervise LPNs, students, and new staff. Collaborate with forensic teams to ensure patient safety and participate in performance improvement initiatives. Requires state licensure in TN, BCLS, and experience with school-age through geriatric populations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved nursing school/program
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure to work in state of TN
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- Experience in caring for patients in an inpatient setting
- Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the school age, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population
