Job Summary
Conduct nursing assessments, create individual treatment plans, and provide care using established best-practice methods for program participants. Screen populations across age groups to determine behavioral health needs and provide referrals to community partners. Deliver telehealth services including virtual assessments, follow-up care, and participant education via HIPAA-compliant platforms. Intervene during emergencies using evidence-based strategies and participate in collaborative care team meetings. Facilitate preventative and restorative health education in individual, group, and community settings while assisting with facility accreditation efforts. Maintain a therapeutic environment and support program goals through professional collaboration. Some local travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensure
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance
- Graduation from an accredited two-year or four-year nursing program
- At least five (5) years' experience working with clients/patients in a substance abuse, counseling, medical, or mental health setting
- Ability to work with others in a manner that is pleasant and professional
- Ability to work well, both individually and as part of a team
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to defend oneself and clients in physically abusive situations through the use of approved physical de-escalation techniques
- Ability to defend oneself and clients in mentally/verbally abusive situations through the use of approved mental/verbal de-escalation techniques
- Ability to work under stress and in emotionally charged settings
- Ability to collect and analyze complex numerical and written data and verbal information to reach logical conclusions
- Ability to work and cooperate with clients, co-workers, managers, the public and employees at all levels in order to exchange ideas, information, instructions and opinions
- Some local travel
- Occasional outdoor work and travel between multiple locations
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Mobility and physical activity including standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds
- Use of computer and telephone systems including coordination of eye and hand, and fine manipulation by the hands
- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at distance
- Hearing ability to receive and communicate detailed information through oral communication
- Talking ability to impart oral information to employees, clients, patients, and the public
- Ability to perform essential duties and activities with or without accommodation
