Job Summary
Provides professional nursing care to patients within assigned areas utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patients. Responsibilities include initiating assessments, collecting information, determining nursing diagnoses and priorities, patient education and discharge planning, documenting care, administering medications and treatments, responding to medical emergencies with CPR/BLS as required, coordinating patient referrals, and collaborating with staff to maintain safety and quality standards. The role also involves teaching patients and families, maintaining medical records, and participating in continuous training and performance improvement initiatives. Requires RN licensure and BCLS, with BSN preferred; inpatient experience and adherence to iRESPECT Standards are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved nursing school/program
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure to work in state of TN. Upon Hire Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
- Experience in caring for patients in an inpatient setting
- Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the school age, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience in inpatient caring for patients
- State licensure to work in TN
- BCLS/Basic Life Support upon hire
- Strong patient education and discharge planning skills
- Competency in documentation and charting
- Infection control practices
- CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to coordinate patient referrals
- Familiarity with iRESPECT Standards and patient/customer satisfaction initiatives
