Job Summary
Conduct head-to-toe assessments, administer medications including IV therapy, and manage surgical patients by changing dressings and monitoring drains. Operate medical equipment, develop individualized care plans with interdisciplinary teams, and educate patients on post-discharge self-care. Perform lab draws, order diagnostic tests, and respond rapidly to medical emergencies while identifying needs for Rapid Response Team activation. Maintain accurate documentation and act as a patient advocate providing emotional support. Requires current New York State licensure, BCLS/ACLS, and critical care experience. Shifts run 7 PM to 7:30 AM with alternating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed as a Professional Registered Nurse in New York State
- BCLS/ACLS required
- Identifies the need for and follows the protocol in managing a RRT
Desired Qualifications
- Critical Care experience preferred
- Bachelors preferred
- Basic Arrhythmia course preferred
- NIHSS CERTIFICATION PLUS 5 CEU HOURS OF STROKE EDUCATION
