Registered Nurse 2 - Specialty (H)

Registered Nurse 2 – Specialty delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service while ensuring population-specific patient care. The RN 2 – Specialty oversees nurses and allied health staff in their daily practice. Core duties include assessing patients and planning care, documenting nursing care, evaluating diagnostic tests, consulting with physicians and healthcare professionals to assess and plan care, preparing patients for examinations and treatments, providing psychological support, safely administering medications, maintaining accurate records, communicating plans of care to patients and families, assisting with discharge planning, operating medical equipment, and serving as a preceptor to new staff to help them acclimate to the healthcare environment. Adheres to policies, protects patient information, and supports the mission of the University of Miami Health System.
