Job Summary
Registered Nurse in CT Behavioral Health Hospital (West Hartford) providing care through physical and mental assessments, laboratory testing, treatment plans, and therapeutic treatments. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, health teaching to residents and families, adherence to Nursing Department standards, documentation of care and communications with staff and physicians, development of resident/patient care and treatment plans, infection control, and participation in CQI activities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of approved School of Nursing
- Associates or BSN in nursing or health-related field preferred or actively pursuing
- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Connecticut or approved Compact License
- Current BCLS certification, ACLS preferred
- A minimum of (1) year experience in a behavioral health care setting and in gerontological nursing (preferred)
- Completion of mandatory in-service provided by the facility
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of a wide range of psychosocial, cognitive and/or developmental disorders
