Job Summary
Registered Nurse on 12HR Night shift in Psychiatric Services responsible for coordinating patient care across the health care continuum, supervising unit staff, discharge planning, and linking patients with required services. Provides patient education, ensures patient rights, maintains safety, and adheres to policies during events such as Code Gray and restraints. Cross-trained to work on any DMC inpatient unit; performs care planning and evaluation, guides team members (PCA, LVN, LPT, Sitter), and supports therapeutic group settings. Minimum qualifications include a BSN (or active BSN progress with completion within 2 years, or diploma transcripts), CA RN license, and BLS; RN-BC preferred. Location: Huntington Hospital, Pasadena, CA; full-time night shift with compensation structure including base pay and shift differentials.
Required Qualifications
- Current unrestricted RN license issued by California BRN
- BSN required; ADN considered if BSN in progress with degree completion within 2 years; Diploma or highest degree transcript required
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience; 2 years preferred
- Basic computer skills and electronic documentation experience
- RN-BC (preferred)
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred; ADN considered if enrolled in BSN program with degree completion within 2 years; Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required
- Current unrestricted RN license issued by CA BRN
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of current experience in acute care; 2 years preferred
- Basic computer skills / electronic documentation experience
- RN-BC (preferred)
