Job Summary
Assess patients with behavioral health and psychiatric conditions and develop individualized nursing care plans. Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions while monitoring patient conditions and documenting care in the EMR. Respond to psychiatric crises using de-escalation techniques and facilitate therapeutic groups and patient education. Implement seclusion and restraint procedures when clinically indicated and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and coping strategies to promote safety and recovery. Requires a current state RN license, BLS certification, and knowledge of mental health laws and interdisciplinary processes. Full-time night shifts (3–12 hours, 7p–7:30a) at Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital with a $10,000 sign-on bonus available.
Required Qualifications
- current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
- Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
