Job Summary
The Registered Nurse at the Ft. Lyons Health Center will provide skilled nursing care aligned with Colorado Coalition for the Homeless protocols, delivering patient-centered care within a trauma-informed, harm-reduction model. Responsibilities include conducting triage assessments, educating patients on health conditions, administering medications, mentoring new nurses, and accurately documenting patient activities in the electronic health record. The role demands a commitment to addressing the complex health needs of homeless and at-risk individuals, strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and a proactive approach to overcoming barriers to healthcare access.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Certification in Basic Life Support
- A degree in nursing (ADN, BSN or MSN) from an accredited college or university
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ambulatory, public, community, mental health, emergency, or critical care nursing
- Pediatric nursing experience
- Familiarity with serving diverse or marginalized communities, including those experiencing homelessness
