Job Summary

Administer and accurately record medications for residents as prescribed by physicians, while monitoring safe delivery of the Medication Management Program and observing ingestion or completion of application techniques. Document refusals, adverse reactions, and vital signs, restock inventories, and re-order resident medications from the pharmacy as needed. Maintain medication accountability through shift counting, report discrepancies to the Resident Care Director, and ensure proper infection control practices including Universal Precautions. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, perform other duties as assigned, and act as a shift supervisor when appropriate. This role requires certification as a Resident Care Associate, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Successfully completed course work and examinations to obtain certification as a Resident Care Associate
  • Obtain continuing education credits as required by the state to maintain certification as an RMA
  • Possess knowledge of safe medication administration techniques
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe medication administration techniques through a competency skills evaluation
  • CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain as per company policy
  • Understand and practice resident confidentiality
  • Have the ability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed for resident care and services
  • Show sincere compassion and demonstrate genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of seniors and their families
  • Be proficient in basic office equipment, including a personal computer, for the purpose of accomplishing and maintaining a high level of job performance
