Job Summary

Administer medications to residents in accordance with state licensing and regulatory standards, accurately recording ingestion and reporting complications or adverse reactions. Monitor the medication management program by auditing inventory, re-ordering supplies, and ensuring safe storage of controlled substances with proper shift counting. Obtain and record vital signs, document refusals, and communicate updates to the Resident Care Director via the Daily Shift to Shift Communication Log. Assist in maintaining a safe environment by inspecting equipment, enforcing infection control practices, and supporting residents with physical needs. Maintain certification through continuing education and demonstrate competency in safe medication administration techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • Successfully completed course work and examinations to obtain certification as a Resident Care Associate
  • Obtain continuing education credits as required by the state to maintain certification as an RMA
  • Possess knowledge of safe medication administration techniques
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe medication administration techniques through a competency skills evaluation
  • CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain as per company policy
  • Understand and practice resident confidentiality
  • Have the ability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed for resident care and services
  • Show sincere compassion and demonstrate genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of seniors and their families
  • Be proficient in basic office equipment, including a personal computer, for the purpose of accomplishing and maintaining a high level of job performance
