Job Summary
Manage a residential care home for children and young people, guiding the team to implement quality care and life improvements. Develop senior practitioners, monitor performance, and oversee operations, health, and safety policies. Ensure child protection procedures are followed, monitor young people's progress, and meet their medical needs. Effectively manage home budgets monthly, maintain accurate records, and analyze data to identify trends and remedial actions. Build relationships with statutory bodies like Ofsted and the local community while supporting staff training and compliance with legislation. Operate within an on-call system for Monday through Thursday and rotational weekend coverage, remaining flexible for evenings, nights, and sleepovers as required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience of working in a residential children's home in a management or supervisory capacity
- DBS check for work with children and adults
- Full manual UK driving licence
- Eligible for car insurance for company cars
- Relevant qualifications in social care or other relevant subject
- Excellent communication skills
- IT skills
- Teamwork skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection

- NVQ level 4 DipSW
- CQSW
- CSS
- Management qualification
- Willingness to work towards a Management qualification
