Job Summary
Registered Early Childhood Educator role providing care and guidance to children aged 0-13 and supporting mothers in meeting parenting goals. Responsibilities include assessing children’s abilities and progress, engaging in developmentally appropriate activities, observing and documenting progress, and collaborating with parents to plan and evaluate programming. The role requires adherence to policies and procedures, planning and implementing daily activity schedules, promoting diversity and inclusion, and maintaining a safe, healthy environment in the Child Development Centre. The position is a 1-year contract located at 215 Evans Ave., Etobicoke, ON, with hours 8:30 am–4:30 pm, Monday–Friday. Salary is $24.91-$29.14 per hour with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE/RECE)
- must be registered member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- a minimum of two years’ experience in the field of Early Childhood Education for the full-time position
- Emergency first aid, CPR training level C
- Up to date Immunizations
- Proof of two step TB test
- A current and clear Police Vulnerable Sector check
- Knowledgeable in working with women who have substance use/gambling concerns
- Familiar with relevant legislation, i.e. Child Care and Early Years Act and Child Youth and Family Services Act
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships with families
- Ability to be energetic, resilient and maintain a sense of humour
- A high degree of personal initiative with good planning and organizational skills
