Job Summary
Develop, plan, and implement day-to-day operations of the Before and After School Program, including creating a safe, responsive learning environment that supports children's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical growth. Plan programming based on the Ministry of Education's pedagogy and "Tools for Life" framework while ensuring compliance with licensing requirements. Provide quality, play-based learning and supervision for all children, welcome culturally diverse clients and newcomers, and interact with families and community partners. Work as part of a team to foster a positive learning environment that promotes equity, respect, and inclusion.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Worker
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with school age children, and their families
- Experience working in a Before and After School program, with parents and with community partners
- Thorough knowledge of applicable legislation i.e. Child Care and Early Years Act (2014)
- Current First aid/CPR
- Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (N.V.C.I.) training
