Job Summary
Facilitate face-to-face and comprehensive coaching for individuals in the Substance Abuse Program, delivering group counseling, educational sessions, and individual treatment plans. Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and medication monitoring while maintaining client files and documenting progress in accordance with agency policies. Act as a client advocate by providing appropriate referrals and strengthening support systems with peers, family, and the community. Uphold G.L.O.M. Substance Abuse Programs standards, enforce professional ethics, and maintain facility safety. Collaborate with counselors, support staff, and leadership to ensure culturally competent care and continuous quality improvement.

- Knowledge of abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures
- Ability to exercise professionalism at all times
- Ability to maintain safety and security of facility
- Ability to document client progress accurately and within time frames
- Ability to develop an individualized treatment plan
- Ability to prevent relapse
- Ability to provide medication monitoring and drug testing
- Ability to facilitate and co-facilitate group counseling and educational sessions
- Ability to provide appropriate referrals and act as a client advocate
- Ability to provide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients
- Ability to perform individual and or group treatment in accordance with best practices
- Ability to participate in weekly case and chart reviews
- Ability to work in close collaboration with other Counselors, Support Staff, Leaders, and Management
- Ability to deliver individual and group substance abuse counseling and educational services
- Ability to deliver other gender-specific and trauma informed services
- Ability to provide comprehensive relapse prevention counseling
- Ability to provide counseling to strengthen positive relationships and support systems with peers, family, and community
- Ability to uphold and enforce agency policies and procedures
- Ability to adhere to code of ethics, legal aspects of practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures
- Ability to exercise awareness in cultural competency, client satisfaction, quality of services, client needs, and overall health and safety staff and clients
- Ability to participate in the agency's Orientation training, staff meetings, and in-service training
