Job Summary
Conduct onsite, comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents and develop individualized nutrition care plans. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure nutritional adequacy and compliance with regulations, while assisting the Food Service Director in managing costs and overseeing food preparation. Educate residents, families, and staff on healthy eating habits and monitor nutritional status to adjust care plans as needed. This full-time or part-time role at The Pines at Utica offers a weekly pay schedule and flexible hours for those committed to enhancing the health and well-being of aging residents through nutrition.
Required Qualifications
- Active registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Valid and active New York State license
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
- Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Interest in the nutrition and health care needs of the aged and the chronically ill, with the ability to work with both
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a long-term care setting preferred
