Registered Dietitian - Per Diem

Per diem Registered Dietitian provides patient-centered nutrition care for individuals with acute, chronic and preventable disease states, collaborating with Food Service staff to promote appropriate use of food and supplements, and interfacing with physicians, employees and the public at rounds, meetings, and health fairs. Responsibilities include prioritizing patient nutritional needs, conducting nutrition assessments, counseling patients on nutrition status and goals, charting in the EMR, working with Food Service to tailor meals, contributing to continuous improvement projects, and participating in departmental/organizational meetings. Requires the ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual abilities preferred. Education includes a Bachelor’s in Nutrition or Dietetics and completion of an AND-approved Dietetic Internship; RD or RDN credential and continuing education maintenance with CDR; BLS certification or ability to obtain before start. Essential functions span clinical nutrition, patient counseling, documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and occasional travel to health system locations. Working on-site in South Lake Tahoe, CA, with schedules including weekdays, some weekends and holidays.
