Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct the nutritional care of residents in accordance with policy and regulations. Assess and monitor residents' nutritional status to provide recommendations to clinical and medical staff. Educate residents, families, and staff on nutritional concepts and diet modification while ensuring therapeutic diets comply with medical conditions. Work with the team to implement modified texture or therapeutic diets, complete resident nutritional assessments, and participate in care conferences. Orient newly hired staff, develop policies and procedures, and conduct employee performance evaluations. Practice management by rounding and communicate nutritional updates to residents and representatives as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) registration through the Commission of Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 2 years Clinical Nutrition experience in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of current best practices in medical nutrition therapy
- Strong knowledge of State and Federal regulatory guidelines, MDS and standards impacting Clinical Nutrition department in Long-Term Care
- Excellent client services, organization and communication skills
- 2 year(s): Minimum 2 years Clinical Nutrition experience in a healthcare setting
