Job Summary
Coordinate all dietary and nutritional services under the Director of Nursing, designing and implementing nutritional care plans and protocols. Conduct education and counseling programs for individual and group patients regarding conditions such as obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. Prepare nutritional educational materials, review research, and update protocols annually. In charge of prenatal nutrition in accordance with state and federal requirements. Utilize laboratory values and objective patient criteria to provide services, ensuring HIPAA compliance and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. Participate in QA/QI activities and utilize electronic health record systems including NextGen and PMS. Assist in developing program protocols and proposals while promoting the organization's mission.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Dietetics with certification by the State of California
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ambulatory health center
- Familiar with and sensitive to various cultures, eating customs and foods, especially the Hispanic culture
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
