Job Summary
Coordinate all dietary and nutritional services under the general direction of the Director of Nursing, including designing, developing, and implementing nutritional care plans and protocols. Conduct education and counseling programs for individual and group patients, interpreting special dietary needs for conditions such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and pregnancy. Prepare nutrition educational materials, review research, and update protocols annually while ensuring HIPAA compliance and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. Utilize laboratory values and objective patient criteria to provide services, participate in QA/QI activities, and coordinate with clinical, health education, and community staff. Promote the Patient Centered Health Home Model at Omni Family Health and maintain confidentiality for all member information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Dietetics with certification by the State of California
- Independent judgment and discretionary decision making
- Specific training and education as outlined below
- HIPAA compliance
- Maintaining abreast of and in compliance with all HIPAA regulations and requirements
- Treating all member information confidentially
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
- Participate in QA/QI activities
- Contribute towards the overall performance improvement of the organization
- Learn and use the electronic health record

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ambulatory health center
- Familiar with and sensitive to various cultures, eating customs and foods, especially the Hispanic culture
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
