Job Summary
Develop, implement, and monitor Medical Nutrition Therapies while performing nutritional assessments and re-assessments to identify goals and recommend interventions. Collaborate with medical staff, patients, families, and food service to ensure care plans align with facility standards and formulary. Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition regimens, clarify admission orders, and evaluate drug or supplement interactions. Conduct meal rounds to verify tray consistency regarding quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance. Work with the Speech Therapy Department on textured modified diets and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to communicate progress. Review and approve the therapeutic diet manual annually while maintaining current professional registration and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with major studies in Food and Nutrition related field
- Current state licensure/certification, if required by state
- Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration
- One (1) year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent
