Job Summary
Conduct on-site surveys and complaint investigations at adult care and nursing home facilities; evaluate nutritional services for compliance with federal and state regulations; interview facility staff, residents, and families as part of the investigative process; analyze findings and prepare detailed reports including Statements of Deficiencies; assess the adequacy and implementation of corrective action plans (Plans of Correction); provide expertise on dietary standards and nutritional care requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
- Licensure: Current credential as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN); must maintain state licensure
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in a medical facility, preferably a nursing home
- Two (2) years of experience performing nursing home surveillance activities, preferred
- Certification: Ability to obtain Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) certification within 12 months of employment, required
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team; excellent communication; investigative/analytical skills; computer skills
- Other requirements: Travel; weekend/holiday/evening shifts; rotating schedules
