Job Summary
Maintain and follow policies for optimal, cost-effective nutrition care while developing clinical goals and objectives. Utilize resources to provide efficient care, establish working relationships with facility departments, and create education programs for professional staff. Assist in performance planning, train employees within Food and Nutrition Services, and document in-service education for dietitians and interns. Encourage staff participation in research, publications, and lectures while maintaining systems for a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEXDINE standards, and federal regulations including the Civil Rights and Age Discrimination Acts. Keep records accurate and maintain registration status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and state licensure. Support one FTE at the Senior Living Facility with a per diem schedule of 8-16 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Dietitian
- Completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a US regionally accredited university or college
- Course work accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Completed an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program at a health-care facility, community agency, or a foodservice corporation or combined with undergraduate or graduate studies
- Pass a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Obtain / Maintain required state licensure to practice dietetics
- Maintains registration status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Licensure through the state board
- Maintains professional continuing education annually
- Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal government regulations
- Maintains compliance with NEXDINE standards of operation and client contract
- Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended
