Job Summary
Assess the nutritional needs of patients and make recommendations to meet those needs. Document findings in the electronic medical record. Educate patients, family members, professional staff, and students/interns. Teach medical staff and other caregivers regarding patient needs. Perform clerical and office duties. Deliver presentations outside the hospital as required. Complete other duties as assigned. This Registered Dietitian works under the general direction of the Nutrition Department Outpatient Team Lead within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Inpatient Nutrition Department.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications - Registered Dietitian
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
- Registered Dietitian (RD) Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Arkansas
- Completion of a dietetic internship
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification)
Desired Qualifications
- Clinical experience
- Registered Dietitian and Licensed by the State of Arkansas preferred
- Registered Dietitian II RD, LD
- 1-year clinical experience
- Registered Dietitian III
- Master's degree required or Specialty Certification required
- Precepts dietetic interns in the UAMS internship program
- 2+ years' experience
- Registered Dietitian IV
- 4 + years' experience
- Masters required
- Specialty Certification required
