Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for new admissions and monitor residents for changes in nutritional status, weight, skin integrity, hydration, and swallowing concerns. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans while collaborating with physicians, nursing, speech therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize resident outcomes. Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff, and review meal service for quality, accuracy, and resident satisfaction. Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations related to dietary services, including assisting with regulatory surveys and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and refer residents with specialized nutritional concerns for additional evaluation as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Licensed Dietitian in the State of Missouri (or eligible for licensure)
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
- Knowledge of clinical nutrition, therapeutic diets, and medical nutrition therapy
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric nutrition
- Experience with PointClickCare or other electronic health records
- Knowledge of CMS regulations and survey process
