Registered Dietician

Registered Dietician at Acacia Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in West Orange, NJ will provide medical nutrition therapy, develop individualized diet plans, and educate residents on healthy lifestyle choices. Responsibilities include coordinating food service activities with nursing and other departments, ensuring menus and therapeutic diets align with physician orders and regulatory standards, participating in state/federal surveys and implementing corrective actions, maintaining documentation, overseeing food service staff for quality and safety, developing and reviewing dietary plans of care using the MDS, attending facility committees, assessing residents’ dietary needs and preferences, providing nutritional education to residents and families, offering substitute meals with equal nutritional value, and upholding HIPAA and residents’ rights. Qualifications require an NJ license to practice as a Dietitian, a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, a minimum of 2 years SNF experience, knowledge of diet therapy and cost control, proficiency with SigmaCare and GeriMenu, and strong leadership and communication skills.
