Job Summary
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal, and vascular specialties while operating equipment to produce high-quality images for physician interpretation. Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, maintain detailed documentation of findings, and adhere to all safety protocols and infection control standards. Collaborate effectively with physicians and nurses to deliver comprehensive patient care while participating in on-call duties responding promptly to imaging requests. This on-call position at Newberry County Memorial Hospital requires availability from Friday 7:00 pm through Monday 7:00 am and includes CPR certification and current RDMS registration.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy, and pathology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a call-only, PRN capacity
- Flexibility to respond to call requests promptly and adapt to varying schedules
- Current CPR certification
- Compliance with all healthcare regulations
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
Desired Qualifications
- RVT/RDCS certification
- Vascular experience (RVT)
- CCI (RVS) certification
