Job Summary
Perform dental cleanings including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing while conducting periodontal assessments and charting. Take dental radiographs in compliance with regulations and administer preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants. Identify and communicate signs of oral disease to the dentist, educate patients on oral hygiene, and reinforce treatment plans. Provide post-treatment care instructions and maintain accurate patient records while following OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols. Sterilize instruments and maintain operatory cleanliness, collaborating with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow. This part-time role in Salt Lake City requires a licensed hygienist with local anesthesia skills and experience with periodontal therapy.
Required Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in Utah
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to administer local anesthesia
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and clinical precision
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with dental software (Dentrix Ascend a plus)
