Job Summary
Perform prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and periodontal maintenance therapy while conducting comprehensive periodontal assessments and applying preventive treatments like fluoride and sealants. Expose and store digital radiographs, take intraoral photographs, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in practice-management software. Educate patients on oral hygiene and support treatment-plan communication in partnership with the doctor. Set up, break down, and sterilize instruments per OSHA and CDC standards while ensuring HIPAA and Florida Board of Dentistry compliance. Work full-time or part-time/PRN in a busy restorative and surgical practice in Rockledge, FL, reporting to the doctor or office manager.
Required Qualifications
- Active Florida Dental Hygienist license in good standing
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Current Florida dental radiography certification / qualification to expose radiographs
- Current BLS / CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of periodontal therapy, preventive care, and dental terminology
- Proficiency with dental practice-management / EHR software and digital imaging
- Excellent communication, chairside manner, and attention to detail
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive, precise hand movements
- Manual dexterity and close-vision acuity for detailed chairside work
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Florida certification to administer local anesthesia and/or nitrous oxide
- Experience with periodontal maintenance and implant maintenance
- Experience with Dentrix and intraoral scanners
- New graduates with strong clinical skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
