Job Summary
Registered Dental Assistant in Cypress, TX, at Smile Avenue Family Dentistry. Full-time chairside role involving a variety of general, restorative, and cosmetic procedures. Responsibilities include performing expanded functions (coronal polishing, sealants, composite placement), taking and processing digital X-rays, dental charting, operatory setup and sterilization per OSHA standards, impressions and temporary crowns, Invisalign fittings and implants, patient education on post-operative care, maintaining patient records in Open Dental, managing supplies, and coordinating with front office and clinical teams. Requires active Texas RDA registration, 1 year chairside experience, proficiency with digital X-rays and Open Dental, CPR/BLS certification, and strong four-handed dentistry and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Active RDA registration with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
- Minimum of one year chairside assisting experience in a general dentistry setting
- Demonstrated experience with expanded functions (coronal polishing, sealants, composite placement)
- Proficiency in digital X-ray capture and dental charting
- Familiarity with Open Dental practice management software (plus)
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hiring
- Strong four-handed dentistry skills and ability to anticipate the needs of the procedure and dentist
- Professional demeanor focused on patient care with superior communication skills
