Job Summary
Prepare patients for dental procedures and assist dentists during clinical work in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Sterilize instruments, set up trays, and record treatment information while providing postoperative instructions and oral hygiene training. Make preliminary impressions, manage medical emergencies, and adhere to OSHA guidelines for daily sterilization and equipment disposal. Travel daily between locations including Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and Carlisle to deliver care to elderly residents. Requires a current Registered Dental Assistant license, Xray certification, and valid driver's license. Monday through Thursday schedule with potential for Fridays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year Dental Assistant experience
- Valid Driver's Licence and clean driving record
- Registered Dental Assistant
- Xray Certification
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently under direct supervision on a daily basis
- Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software
- Self starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care
- Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift
- Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs
- Must be available for Monday through Thursday with potential for Fridays
- Must be open to working with one or more dentists
- Must be willing to travel to assigned nursing homes
Desired Qualifications
- Current Radiology Certificate (or equivalent credential)
