Job Summary
Prepares patients for dental procedures, assists dentists during clinical work, and sterilizes instruments while setting up trays. Records treatment information, provides postoperative instructions, and teaches patients oral hygiene protocols. Makes preliminary impressions, cleans removable appliances, and manages medical or dental emergencies in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Drives to assigned nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Harrisburg, Wernersville, and surrounding areas, potentially visiting multiple locations daily. Monday through Thursday schedule with potential for Fridays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year Dental Assistant experience
- Valid Driver's Licence and clean driving record
- Registered Dental Assistant
- Xray Certification
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently under direct supervision on a daily basis
- Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software
- Self starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care
- Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift
- Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs
- Must be available for Monday through Thursday with potential for Fridays
- Must be open to working with one or more dentists
- Must be open to traveling to assigned nursing homes
Desired Qualifications
- Current Radiology Certificate (or equivalent credential)
