Job Summary
Assists the dentist chair-side in various clinical procedures and ensures proper dental practices in compliance with the Michigan Dental Practice Act. Responsible for accurate dental charting and effective patient communication, including taking and recording patients' vitals. Executes expanded duties such as taking diagnostic quality radiographs, processing Medicaid prior authorizations, and maintaining infection control standards. Requires strong organizational and communication skills, knowledge of dental terminology, and the ability to provide detailed education to patients. Must maintain confidentiality and possess effective physical stamina for all work duties.
Required Qualifications
- State of Michigan Registered Dental Assistant Licensure from an accredited dental assisting program
- Current license to practice as a Registered Dental Assistant, with Expanded Duties, in the State of Michigan
- State of Michigan Radiology Certification required
- Current BLS Certification required
- Proven experience as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA); Externship / Internship applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Three (3) years of experience as a RDA with Expanded Duties preferred
- Able to function as a RDA; perform all expanded duties preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
